Meet Your Hostesses

Owner & InnKeeper, Vicki Bock

Innkeeper, Vicki Bock, bought the Inn in 2002 and has been dedicated to maintaining the structural integrity and charm of the building while updating it for the modern traveler. This can be a rather daunting task with a building that is almost a hundred years old. Under Vicki’s stewardship, the entire Bears Inn has become an amazing work of art with tastefully chosen objects gathered during her extensive travels. She has the rare knack of making her living spaces rustically beautiful, but genuinely comfy and cozy at the same time. Her love of the building and the surrounding grounds are continuously displayed in the tone of her voice and the sparkle in her eyes as she gleefully describes her newest project for the Inn.

Prior to obtaining the Inn, Vicki taught school for six years in her home state of Missouri as well as Colorado. She then led a successful twenty one year career with State Farm in both an agency in Denver and management throughout Southwest Colorado.  Although she initially enjoyed her success, she began to yearn for a simpler, less chaotic life so she took the plunge and bought the Bears Inn and has become an innkeeper extraordinaire. Customers rave about her famous delicious breakfasts and she knows just how to make people feel comfortable while giving them the privacy they desire.

Vicki is a mother to three wonderful children who reside throughout the country. Ben, a child psychologist, and his wife Kim, an OB/GYN, live in Eugene, OR with their three precocious children, Gus, Grace and Henry. Kate, a world traveler and massage therapist, and her husband Erich, a multi-media director for KLRU, reside in Austin, TX with a charming step daughter, Arwen. Her youngest Mary is an infectiously vivacious RN in Portland, OR.

After thirty two years as a single mom, Vicki was blessed to meet the love of her life, John Daigle, and they were married in March of 2015. When she tells the story of how they met and fell in love, it is truly heartwarming. John has become an integral part of the Inn as our IT man, and helps out with any technical questions that arise. With Vicki’s encouragement he has agreed to stay out of the kitchen. Together they make an amazing team and their love and passion for life is quite contagious.
